Uncle Louis was my hero as a young boy. I loved fishing his lakes, hearing his stories and hearing his laugh. My grandfather John Leitch, loved hanging out with Louis. I wish I had spent more time with Louis, but it’s safe to say he lived his life like it was the Wild West. I remember Louis, my granddad and me sitting in an ice hut on Lake Simcoe. They were laughing and really, really drunk. Louis was saying he just couldn’t believe he’d lived as long as he had. I was 16 years old at the time - so that would have been 34 years ago. He’ll be missed.
